I wanted to create pieces that can be worn because I feel that my depression is characterized by the fact that I have to 'put on a mask' throughout my daily life. I wanted to create a physical and a metaphorical 'emotional' barrier from the outside world. Instead of creating pieces that are site-specific, I wanted to have something that is carried around since depression affects all aspects of my life. I also wanted to experiment with color to see how it would interact with the rest of my portfolio.
